The Courage of a Soldier
A soldier’s courage is the foundation of his heart
A soldier is daring, dauntless, determined
They have guts, grit, and gallantry
All that describe a soldier who’s been through a war
A soldier’s courage is like the backbone of a baby buffalo,
It never leaves once it’s formed.
A soldier is a shepherd who protects his sheep
Someone who is skilled to do the job.
When a soldier comes home from war
The memories like ink on paper
Will never go away
When the fantastic flag flies,
It acknowledges all the veterans who had the courage to fight
When people kneel during the American Anthem,
You are saying that you don’t care about those veterans
And what they had to go through for your freedom
The courage of a soldier
Is like the foundation of a house
Built wrong, the entire house falls
Next time you hear the national anthem,
Remember all of those who have served for you and I.
