Imagine a world full of bleak rules and regulations. Everyone is forced into a certain suit just to march in lines upon lines with everyone else. If you really look around and peer into the empty eyes of our neighbors, you’d realize that this world is our own. Amazingly enough, in this world, where colors are vague and senses are anciently deceased, there are fighters. These fighters are the creators and caretakers of the beauty in this world. In this world, instead of letting the real pleasures of life slip through my fingers, I want to fight, and Focus has helped me with that goal. Preserving the arts of this world takes effort and patience, and frankly, attempting to do anything to assist with it is nearly impossible on one’s own; it’s especially challenging when you feel as if you’re wasting your time when searching for people who share the same goals as you; it’s not a surprise that not many people share the same flames for writing to a strange extent. To get back on track, when I first heard about Focus, something in my head went off, and it seemed like if I were to do anything, I had to do this. It was as if all these ideas in my head went manual on the controls in my brain and waltzed me straight through those broad doors and into a dream where, not only would I finally find those who have passions parallel to mine, but I would also be able to extend myself in ways that appeared impossible before. With as much expectation I had built up for this club, things still managed to turn out far greater than I ever could have imagined. Not only do I get to write, but I have the honor of working with and learning from amazing writers whose passion for the art may even surpass my own. On top of that, the club itself is a beauty. The best way to describe it would have to be multiple sparkling silk webs being tied brilliantly together for hours by the careful legs of artistic spiders. I know that that is a peculiar way of putting it, but there are just so many amazing things that play into this group that it feels like a hopeless goal to write it all down in a way that even makes a blip of sense to the next person. I suppose that, all in all, our essence is the fact that we write, we interview, and we never give up. My ultimate activity in this club has to be the fact that we interview people. Not only is it amazing to asks questions, but the rush, or thrill if you will, is explicit when you get assigned a group of people to interview. From other clubs, teams, and even all the way up to our very own teachers of our school, we don’t just get to meet people; we get to learn more about what to say and what to do to get answers from strangers. All timidness flies straight out the window the moment you open your mouth to inquire someone’s interest in answering a few questions. While learning about the students and staff members of our campus is amazing, actually telling other people about them is a taste sweeter than nectar. The fact that everyone does have personal goals, wishes, and backgrounds is often slippery in the minds of the present. Through this club, we can peel back the surface of people and take a real look on the inside; we get to see the real people. No one remains a shoulder bump in the hallway when you are given such an amazing opportunity to learn about practically anyone you want whenever you want. To tie the final knot in this paper, Focus isn’t for everyone; nothing is. Still, this club is a brilliant place for writers to go when they really want to put themselves out there and ultimately better themselves. Like people, the surface is in no way the true beauty. Once you dig deep enough, you’ll notice how much more determined and pushy you become, as well as how much your writing improves. As I stated before, there are so many glorious things that play into this club, and each of them give such amazing benefits. That is why I am in Focus.
