2017-2018 Senior Homecoming Princesses!

Emily Grice, Senior.

  1.  How did you feel when you officially made homecoming court?

  • I felt excited, happy, and most of all honored to represent my school and my classmates. I take pride in being a part of SHS and being a Silsbee Tiger.

  1. How did your family react to your nomination?

  • They were very proud and supportive of me; just as they always are, with anything that I do.

  1. Who will be walking you onto the field?

  • My father, Troy Grice.

  1. What sports/activities/clubs are you involved in? Outside of school?

  • I am the 2017-2018 Student Body President (Student Council), the Founder/President of the Inter-Club Council, a member of Key club, a member of tiger keepers/tunnel team, a member of the National Honor -Society, and the Event Planner (Senior Staffer) for the Satsuma Yearbook. Outside of school I am in the Julie Roger's Gift of Life Youth Council in Beaumont.

  1. List some of your accomplishments throughout your high school career (or what you hope to accomplish in your remaining years here).

  • - Member of Student Coucil all 4 years -2017-2018 Student Body President -Student Body Recording Secretary (Junior Year) -Class Vice President (Sophomore year) -Class Representative (Freshman year) -Founder/President of the Inter-Club Council -FCCLA Member for 2 years -Key Club Member for 2 years -National Honor Society Member for 2 years -Diamond Darling for 2 years -Tiger Keeper/Tunnel Team for 2 years -Varsity Golf for 2 years (earning 3rd place district team my sophomore year) -Julie Roger's Gift of Life Youth Council in Beaumont for 3 years (serving my junior year as Social Chairman) -Yearbook for 2 years (Junior Staffer my Junior year and Senior Staffer/Event Planner my Senior year -Homecoming Court all four years -I will be graduating with honors this may with a 3.8 GPA and I plan on attending Lamar University to study Pre-Dentistry.

  1. How are you going to use your influential platform to change our school for the better?

  • I would like to use my influential platform to change our school for the better by setting an example by being friendly, happy, and having great pride in our school.

  1. If you could change one thing, anything, SHS what would it be?

  • I would like for our whole school to be a unified team with our school spirit and love for our classmates.

  1. What would you say are some of your best qualities?

  • I would like to think that I am very friendly, approachable, organized, honest, and I have a very big heart.

  1. What are your favorite things about SHS?

  • My classmates. When I moved here in the 8th grade, they all made me feel so welcomed. Now I feel like they are my family and I love each and every one of them.

  1. Seniors Only: Why do you think you deserve the title of homecoming queen?

  • I am very involved in our school with extracurricular activities and clubs, I am very friendly to everyone, I have tiger pride, and I would love to represent SHS with class and grace.

  • Happy!!!

  • My dad

  1. What sports/activities/clubs are you involved in? Outside of school?

  • Select soccer,soccer,track,multi cultral club, and drama club

  1. List some of your accomplishments throughout your high school career (or what you hope to accomplish in your remaining years here).

  • 3 years of 1st team all district soccer and 2 years regional track.

  1. How are you going to use your influential platform to change our school for the better?

  • Being kind towards everyone! Helping however i can.

  1. If you could change one thing, anything, SHS what would it be?

  • The food

  1. What would you say are some of your best qualities?

  • My smile and personality

  1. What are your favorite things about SHS?

  • Everyone in it

  • I love representing Silsbee

Lennie Mangindin, Senior.

  1. How did you feel when you officially made homecoming court?

  • Of course I was very shocked..I was NOT expecting my name to be called out. But I am happy to be a part of the homecoming court this year. It's an honor to be representing my class

  1. How did your family react to your nomination?

  • They were very happy and excited for me as always! I am blessed to have the family I have

  1. Who will be walking you onto the field?

  • My father, Travis Fountain

  1. What sports/activities/clubs are you involved in? Outside of school?

  • Varsity Powerlifting, Spelling UIL,StuCo, Yearbook

  1. List some of your accomplishments throughout your high school career (or what you hope to accomplish in your remaining years here).

  • Honestly, I think my biggest accomplishment is that I made it to my Senior year; my last year in high school. I hope to graduate, apply to the college I want to attend and pursue on being a Physical Therapist

  1. How are you going to use your influential platform to change our school for the better?

  • I would like to use my influential platform to bring confidence to every girl out there struggling to find beauty in themselves. I am not perfect myself and I'll never be perfect but as long as you have a good heart willing to help others then that is beauty...

  1. If you could change one thing, anything, SHS what would it be?

  • The students mindset..always think before you speak

  1. What would you say are some of your best qualities?

  • I remain humble and kind towards others . I'm willing to help and I'll always be here for you no matter what the situation is.

  1. What are your favorite things about SHS?

  • My classmates and their spirit

  1. Seniors Only: Why do you think you deserve the title of homecoming queen?

  • I don't. I think the other girls deserve it more than I do. It's my first year on the hoco court and that wouldn't be fair..I never intended on wanting the crown. I'm just very happy and blessed to be a part of the homecoming court this year!

Neeleigh Smith, Senior.

  1. How did you feel when you officially made homecoming court?

  • I was ecstatic and honored to represent my class!

  1. How did your family react to your nomination? *

  • They were excited and very proud.

  1. Who will be walking you onto the field? *

  • My father, Daryl Smith

  1. What sports/activities/clubs are you involved in? Outside of school? *

  • Volleyball, Cross Country, Softball Key Club, Stu-Co, NHS, Diamond Darling, FUMC youth

  1. List some of your accomplishments throughout your high school career (or what you hope to accomplish in your remaining years here). *

  • I hope to continue promoting community service through my clubs and to bring smiles and happiness to those in our community! My accomplishments are :1st team all district outfield Junior and Sophomore year; 2nd team all-district outfield Freshman year; Scholastic All District athlete- for volleyball and Softball in 2016-2017; S awards in Computer science I and II, Physics and World Geography.

  1. How are you going to use your influential platform to change our school for the better? *

  • By promoting community service within the school, I hope to make our community and school more connected through caring for one another!

  1. If you could change one thing, anything, SHS what would it be? *

  • To continue to increase our school spirit and make our school image more positive throughout the local and regional communities.

  1. What would you say are some of your best qualities? *

  • I am an optimistic,kindhearted, organized, determined, and love to help others! :)

  1. What are your favorite things about SHS? *

  • My favorite things about SHS is the student and faculty's school spirit, the athletic families, and the care our school has shown to others in time of need- with Hurricane Harvey.

  1. Seniors Only: Why do you think you deserve the title of homecoming queen?

  • I have actively represented my school in a variety of clubs, sports, and events. I would love and be honored to represent the school as this years Homecoming Queen. :)

  1. Anything else you would like to add? :)

  • I think any of the four girls will be great options for queen, but I would be honored if I was chosen! :)
