  • What were your motives to try out for Cheer?

  • I always regreted not being more involved in middle school so going into high school I decided Cheerleading would be a great way to change that!

  • How did you feel when you made the team?

  • Super Excited!!

  • Did you have any prior cheer experience when you tried out?

  • I did the cheer team at the dance academy when I was little,

  • Were you a Silsbee Middle School Cheerleader? Did you cheer outside of school?

  • No I was not a middle school Cheerleader

  • What is your favorite stunt?

  • Baskets

  • What is your favorite part of Cheer?

  • How we are all like sisters

  • How do you prepare before you perform?

  • Pin up my bow and fix my makeup

  • How do you feel at the peprally or cheering at the games?

  • Sometimes nervous but i'm always having a good time!

  • Who on the team, adult or not, has impacted you life throughout your years at Silsbee?

  • Coach K has impacted me because I have had her as a coach every year. I can tell she always wants the best for us and always works hard to prepare us for whatever is going on next!

  • What are your achievements in Cheer?

  • All American

Nadia Underwood, Junior, 2nd Year Varsity.

  • What were your motives to try out for Cheer?

  • It's my passion, I love to do it.

  • How did you feel when you made the team?

  • Very excited that all my hard work paid off

  • Did you have any prior cheer experience when you tried out?

  • Yes, I've been cheering every since I was a toddler

  • Were you a Silsbee Middle School Cheerleader? Did you cheer outside of school?

  • Yes

  • What is your favorite stunt?

  • Basket toss / ball out

  • What is your favorite part of Cheer?

  • The rush it gives me and watching the little kids try to cheer with us and most importantly I love the girls (guy) so much

  • How do you prepare before you perform?

  • I overthink everything, I think of every terrible thing that can possibly happen and try to prevent them

  • How do you feel at the peprally or cheering at the games?

  • I feel very nervous during pep rallys but very comfortable during the games

  • Who on the team, adult or not, has impacted you life throughout your years at Silsbee?

  • I would say Oceanna Parker and Emily Benoit, they always encourage me and is always there when I need them, very grateful for them.

  • What are your achievements in Cheer?

  • Best performer

Lydea Whitmore, Sophomore, 2nd Year Varsity.

  • What were your motives to try out for Cheer?

  • Because I really like to cheer.

  • How did you feel when you made the team?

  • I felt super happy and overjoyed.

  • Did you have any prior cheer experience when you tried out?

  • Yes I did jr cheer.

  • Were you a Silsbee Middle School Cheerleader? Did you cheer outside of school?

  • Yes i was a middle school cheerleader.

  • What is your favorite stunt?

  • Partner stunts.

  • Just being on a part of the team with great people.

  • I stretch and breath and calm my nerves.

  • How do you feel at the peprally or cheering at the games?

  • I feel really good and i like it a lot.

  • I have made all american 2 years and i was co-captain in middle school. and i made varsity freshman and sophomore year.

  • No I didnt cheer in middle school but I did cheer outside of school

  • All of them

  • Meeting new people

  • How do you prepare before you perform?

  • I say I got this about 20 times to myself

  • How do you feel at the peprally or cheering at the games?

  • Very nervous

  • I wanted to be a leader of my school and support my piers

  • How did you feel when you made the team?

  • I was super excited

  • Were you a Silsbee Middle School Cheerleader? Did you cheer outside of school?

  • I cheered all middle school

  • What is your favorite stunt?

  • Partner stunts

  • What is your favorite part of Cheer?

  • Seeing all the young kids cheering with us and getting the crowd pumped up

  • How do you prepare before you perform?

  • I usually tell everyone i’m nervous like 20 times then just go out there and cheer like never before

  • How do you feel at the peprally or cheering at the games?

  • I feel so entergetic and full of spirit

  • Who on the team, adult or not, has impacted you life throughout your years at Silsbee?

  • Coach k, she has always been there for me when i needed someone to talk to and needed advice. she’s been my coach all throughout high school.

  • What are your achievements in Cheer?

  • “Most improved cheerleader”

Kayla Campbell, Junior.

  • What were your motives to try out for Cheer?

  • I was that little girl that always wanted to cheer, and being that I was a junior and had already cheered 3 years of school cheer, I was determined to tryout!

  • How did you feel when you made the team?

  • I was ecstatic! I love cheering and couldn't imagine doing anything else and to be cheering with some of my best friends is such an honor!

  • Did you have any prior cheer experience when you tried out?

  • Yes, I cheered one year of jr. cheer, one year of middle school, one year of junior varsity, and one year of varsity. I took cheer classes at the dance studio I was taking from when I was 9 and 10, and also have been taking tumbling classes for almost two years.

  • Were you a Silsbee Middle School Cheerleader? Did you cheer outside of school?

  • Yes, I cheered my 8th grade year and I took cheer and tumble classes

  • What is your favorite stunt?

  • Basket tosses!!

  • What is your favorite part of Cheer?

  • My favorite part of cheer is probably getting close to the girls (and Eddie), and forming a bond like no other. I enjoy cheering with them and can't wait to see what next year holds!

  • How do you prepare before you perform?

  • Before I perform, I make sure I am completely stretched and throw a few tumble passes, depending if in doing them in my performance.

  • How do you feel at the peprally or cheering at the games?

  • Cheering at pep rallies are a lot more intense than games because all eyes are on us, at games, not so much so I don't feel as much pressure, but there definitely is some there!

  • Who on the team, adult or not, has impacted you life throughout your years at Silsbee?

  • I would have to say Coach K because she has been my coach for all 3 years of my high school experience. She has pushed me to do things i didn't think i was capable of doing but i most certainly was. She also has helped

  • What are your achievements in Cheer?

  • •All-American •Awarded "Most Determined" at SHS Varsity Cheer banquet 2017 •T4 Tumble Class 1st place winner
