Recollection
Puzzling indeed, why that night lingers on the taste buds of my tongue,
Caught up in dreams, we forgot the politics of the right-wingers and lived to be young.
Bathing in stars, our hearts became drenched in what never could be,
And just like my guitar, the love emanating from my soul was just you playing my strings.
Convoluted truth can only be equated to lies in the memorial gallery of our short lived loved,
Misconception was guided by seduction and I fell into your trap thinking you were some angel from above.
Reality set in like some breed of drug
And it was only a matter of time before my heart accepted the breaking it deserved,
Reaching a nine on the Richter scale the fault in my heart was voided of a ten simply because I knew somehow, some type of gradual healing -- had to occur.
Unrequited love is a demon that will haunt my soul,
Until some salvational type of amnesia sets in,
Until then it’s just me and my mistakes, our faded love, and our jaded sins.
Until then it’s just me questioning myself from deep fathoms within,
Unsteady because who knows if you’ve recollected our memories since then.
Uncertain due to my journey down this one way lane named Loves End
And I’m still waiting for that amnesia to kick in.
Until then I’ll lie awake at nights haunted,
Captured by the question,
Of what could have been.

All the Wrong Reasons
Red was his favorite color after all
So she left it dripping behind
The color that now stains the carpet
As her dress clings to her cold shoulders
An affair that seemed so great
But in the end, decided her fate
He remembers why red
Was his favorite color
Her lips painted
Her dress flowing
Her hair wavy
All red
He swore he loved her
But she knew better
For he laid with another
Love was never an option
Cliche hearts and candy
Were just a dream
Red WAS his favorite color
But now it reminds him
Of the fate he sealed

A Thousand
A thousand words,
Isn’t enough to tell you how I feel.
A thousand songs,
Can’t describe your beauty.
Your smile,
Shines brighter than a thousand suns.
Your laugh,
Warms me like a thousand fires.
A thousand kisses,
Addictive and sweet.
A thousand lifetimes,
Will never be enough.
God blessed me with you,
I’ll be thanking Him for a thousand years.
Our journey has started,
As we reach a thousand steps.
A thousand times,
I’ve said I love you.
A thousand more,
I’ll keep going.

‘Til Death Do Us Part Sleep. What a lovely thing. You see, Sleep and I Have a wonderful relationship. Some would call it True love. Like a chain of heavy metal, Our bond cannot be broken. Bound for life, With no words of affection left unspoken. Sleep is my one and only love, Nothing else can compare. To think of something better, The thought I would not dare. ‘Til death do us part, I will love no other. Until a different sleep, one of Eternal peace and slumber, Will become my new love.
