What made you decide to start acting?
I decided to start acting because becoming someone else, even for just a split second is the best therapy I've ever experienced. To lose my self in a character, and to not have to deal with my problems is very refreshing.
Who is your biggest supporter?
My biggest supporter is my mom. She has always pushed me to do what I love, no matter what. When I told her that I wanted to act for a living she was ecstatic that I found confidence doing something that I loved.
Who is your biggest influence?
My biggest influence is the world. I've seen the impact actors and other artist have had on people. If I can make someone happy with my acting I will have accomplished a life long goal.
Has anything gone wrong on set? If so what?
Oh goodness! Yes! everything that could go wrong has. From forgetting my lines, to missing a costume change, but to me that's the beauty of theater. The show must go on.
What's been the hardest/easiest thing you've had to accomplish?
The hardest thing I've ever done was my first audition. After I did it I cried for about four hours. It paid off though for I was cast in my first show my freshman year.
What would you like to accomplish before the end of the year?
I would love to do well at my upcoming audition for scholarships at the Theater Fest in Galveston. To get a scholarship from Sam Houston would be such a great blessing.
How has Theatre affected you in/out of school?
Theater has definitely effected the way I work. Theater requires one to learn quickly, so that helped my work ethic tremendously.
What is your biggest strength? Weakness?
My biggest strength is I'm very good at memorizing, I can read a monologue once and have it memorized. My biggest weakness is definitely improvisation.
What are your goals in Theatre?
My goal for theater is to ultimately make a career out of it. Whether it be acting, directing, or stage management.
Cameron Barnes, Senior, 2 years.
What made you decide to start acting?
Looked like fun. I knew I could act but I was curious on what it would be like to take it seriously.
Who is your biggest supporter?
My class of actors. They constantly reassure me and build me up.
Who is your biggest influence?
I had a friend who was apart of the Vidor theater program. He played the lead in Sweeny Todd and has always played a role in how I act
Has anything gone wrong on set? If so what?
Yes
What's been the hardest/easiest thing you've had to accomplish?
Hardest is definitely improvising when something goes wrong on the stage when it matters the most. You practically start acting something that was never written much less practiced and try to get back on track. Easiest would have to be acting itself. If you take a character you truly like and admire you can easily step into his or her shoes and wear them as your own. So if you're comfortable with the part you have acting comes easy.
What would you like to accomplish before the end of the year?
Advance in One-Act
How has Theatre affected you in/out of school?
It has allowed me to open up a little more and be more spontaneous more often
What is your biggest strength? Weakness?
I would like to think I'm pretty spontaneous and flexible when it comes to acting a variety of characters so I would say the ability to personify different individuals from different backgrounds would be a certain strength of mine. My weakness would have to be fumbling lines.
What are your goals in Theatre?
Have fun, try new things, and see what happens!
Alexia Read, Junior, 3 years.

Who is your biggest supporter?
My parents.
Has anything gone wrong on set? If so what?
Yes, my wheelchair got stuck in the french doors and I wasn't even supposed to go through them.
What's been the hardest/easiest thing you've had to accomplish?
The hardest thing was I had to learn how to fall out of a wheelchair. The easiest thing was probably acting lick a crotchety old lady.
What would you like to accomplish before the end of the year?
I would like to perform in our One Act play.
How has Theatre affected you in/out of school?
It has allowed me to make new friends and do what I love. It has made me have a little bit less time away from school, though.
