Night Demons

It appeared in the dark.

Nothing was visible but it

Crawled, ever creeping closer.

Uncertain comfortability transpired.

Belated instincts disregarded him,

Utilizing emotional yearning through paralysis.

Sedentary, I fell victim of the dark.

Sensations overruled in the dark. Uncontrollably I searched,

Cunningly, I yearned,

Captivated, I caved.

Ubiquitously, He encouraged. Belated morals disregarded me, Uncaring, I abused their Paralysis

Sedentary, I victimized in the dark.

The 31st of October

One dark, windy October night

Filled with treats, tricks, and frights

Too many masks to know who’s who tonight

Are these mysterious streets safe

No way to tell, absolutely no trace

Of any others to make assumptions

Do the strange houses contain delicious candies for consumption

No way to tell, except to see for yourself

Choose the first house with the lights on

Ring the bell, hear the door creak

As sinister eyes peer through the eyeholes of the mask

Repeat those three words like a trouble-free task

Come inside come take a peak

At the candies I have for you to eat

Leave your basket at the door

You no longer need that anymore

One dark, windy October night

Filled with treats, tricks, and frights

3rd Place:

Fear of monsters or ghost?

No way!

Truth.

Fear of anything?

Never!

Lie.

Fear lives deep in the soul

Fear lives in the home

Boy knows fear

Nothing’s scary ‘bout monsters or ghost

Things in stories don't hurt you

Life hurts you the boy states
